Tesla P85D 0-60 Time Just Got Quicker with Firmware 6.2

I have to confess that one of my guilty pleasures, outside of sneaking in a Twix candy bar after dinner, is watching videos of the Tesla P85D rip the innards out of practically every drag strip rival it encounters. Best of all, this insane Model S just keeps getting more insane. Case in point is the recent over-the-air (OTA) Firmware 6.2 update that not only increases top speed to 155 mph, as seen in the P85D top speed run on the German Autobahn, but further reduces the 0-60 time to near sub 3 second territory!

Breaking into the 2.9 sec 0-60mph would be on par with the McLaren MP4-12C supercar. Seeing how the performance of the dual drive Model S’ continues to improve through new OTAs, I think it goes beyond wishful thinking to say that the Tesla Model S P85D will no doubt be able to achieve a 2.9 if not even a 2.8 sec 0-60 time in the near future.

As I was saying earlier, there’s something so gratifying and laugh inducing when I see just how ridiculous rivals of the P85D look on a drag strip. The flagship 691 horsepower Tesla puts its foes quicker to rest than a silent assassin of the night.

This final video is a perfect example of just how unmatched other performance cars look against the P85D from a standstill. Yes, the Dodge Hellcat even makes an appearance although the owner of the P85 can be heard in the video saying that one of the Hellcat drivers tried to dodge him by not racing him. No pun intended.

Now back to my (second) Twix bar. Enjoy!
