Elon Musk’s xAI company recently released Grok-2 Beta, which rolled out new features like image generation.

“We are excited to release an early preview of Grok-2, a significant step forward from our previous model Grok-1.5, featuring frontier capabilities in chat, coding, and reasoning,” noted xAI in a blog post.

Grok-2 Beta has a redesigned interface and introduces new features to users. Gork-2’s image generation feature has become a hot topic on X. Grok-2 is available to X Premium and Premium+ users. The company also rolled out the Grok-2 mini.

xAI has benchmarked Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini against a few competitors.

“An early version of Grok-2 has been tested on the LMSYS leaderboard under the name ‘sus-column-r.’ At the time of this blog post, it is outperforming both Claude 3.5 Sonnet and GPT-4-Turbo,” the company stated.

Musk’s artificial intelligence company has been making significant progress throughout the year. In March, xAI open-sourced its first language model. The following month, in April, xAI unveiled Grok 1.5V, which could process visuals.
