Lucid Group provided more details about the launch of its luxury electric SUV, Gravity. Lucid Gravity announcements followed the launch of the Air Pure and Air Touring variants. Lucid Group CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson describes the Gravity as a luxury SUV with the performance of a supercar.

Lucid Gravity reservations will open in early 2023. The company plans to start Gravity deliveries by 2024. During its November 15 launch event, Lucid shared that it is finalizing Gravity’s design and specifications. The company is also working on the expansion of its AMP-1 factory in Casa Grande, Arizona. The luxury SUV aims to strike a balance between performance, efficiency, and style.

“I’m so thrilled with the results we are seeing with Lucid Gravity, sparing no opportunity to build on everything we learned with Lucid Air to create something that warps the vehicle-class continuum,” noted Derek Jenkins, Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Design.

“It is both a supercar in disguise and an SUV with flexible passenger and cargo space that seems impossibly big relative to the exterior size of the vehicle. And it does this all with Lucid’s distinctive post-luxury design, inspired by California,” Jenkins said.

Gravity will have flexible seating configurations that can accommodate five, six, or seven adults. The luxury SUV will have two and three-row seating configurations. It will also feature Lucid’s next-gen Glass Cockpit high-resolution displays. The cockpit will be powered by the improved Lucid UX software interface.

“Gravity builds upon everything we have achieved thus far, driving further advancements of our in-house technology to create a luxury performance SUV like none other,” Rawlinson commented. “Just as Lucid Air redefined the sedan category, so too will Gravity impact the world of luxury SUVs, setting new benchmarks across the board.”
