Tesla has launched an updated test drive page for its available consumer vehicles. As could be seen in Tesla’s updated “Schedule a Drive” page, test drives now feature a notable focus on Full Self Driving (FSD).
Immediately noticeable in Tesla’s updated “Schedule a Drive” page is the focus on FSD during the test drive process, at least for the Model Y, Model 3, Model S, and Model X. As per Tesla, an advisor would help customers get set up with FSD (Supervised) and accompany them during the test drive session.
“You will be able to experience Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Under your supervision, the Tesla vehicle will automatically navigate turns, intersections and more along your route. A Tesla Advisor can get you set up, and accompany you during the drive upon request,” Tesla wrote in its updated test drive page.
Tesla’s updated “Schedule a Drive” page also includes an option to book the soonest test drive slots available in nearby areas. This should allow potential customers to schedule a test drive at their preferred location at a time that is most convenient for them.
Interestingly enough, Tesla’s updated “Schedule a Drive” page also includes an option to select the Cybertruck. This is quite interesting as the Cybetruck is still a very new vehicle that is being produced in its limited edition Foundation Series variant. Tesla is also yet to release Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for the Cybertruck.
The focus on FSD (Supervised) on Tesla’s updated “Schedule a Drive” page is quite similar to a strategy that was requested by CEO Elon Musk earlier this year. Back in March, a leaked email from Musk indicated that it would be mandatory in North America to take customers on an FSD (Supervised) test ride before they take delivery of their car. As per the email, such a strategy should help consumers become more aware of FSD’s capabilities.
