Tesla Model S driver flees scene after killing motorcyclist in hit-and-run

Reports coming out of the Pasadena police department indicate that a 60-year old Pasadena man was killed after being hit by a Tesla Model S in the late evening of Thursday. Pasadena police are seeking public help with anyone that witnessed the incident or has information on the accident that occurred at roughly 11:45 pm Thursday at Marengo Avenue and Washington Boulevard.

The name of the motorcyclist who died at the scene has been withheld pending notification of his relatives.

According to Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman, a grey Tesla Model S was heading north on Marengo Avenue at a “high rate of speed” when it collided with the motorcycle at the intersection of Washington Boulevard. Goodman notes that the driver, said to be either a White or Hispanic male, ran off after the Model S was severely damaged and became disabled. “It was disabled, that’s why they abandoned it,” Goodman said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lt. Diego Torres at (626) 744-7159, or the watch commander at (626) 744-4620.
