It may not be an exaggeration to state that the Cybertruck has a perception problem today. While Tesla designed the all-electric pickup truck to be as tough as possible, media reports and influencer videos on platforms such as YouTube have created a narrative that the Cybertruck is a fragile failure. It is then quite satisfying when videos emerge showing the Cybertruck surprising people with its capabilities.

One such instance was shared on Instagram, which featured a Tesla Cybertruck pulling out a Ford F-250 that was stuck in a ditch. As could be seen in the video, the Cybertruck was able to pull out the stuck F-250 without any effort at all. This was highlighted by the excited commentary of the video’s uploader, who seemed very pleased that the all-electric pickup truck was able to accomplish the task.

It is not surprising that the Cybertruck was able to successfully pull out the F-250 from the ditch. Ford F-250s typically weigh just about 6,500 pounds, and the Cybertruck’s towing capacity is a capable 11,000 pounds.

Granted, pulling vehicles out of ditches is not a feature unique to the Cybertruck and vehicles get stuck in ditches all the time, but that’s exactly the point. Had the situation been reversed and the Cybertruck was the one that needed to be pulled out by a Ford F-250, there is almost a certainty that the video would go viral, and critics would once more dub the Cybertruck as the “Cyberstuck,” or “Cybersuck,” or other creative variations of the nickname.

Negative media articles and viral videos aside, the Tesla Cybertruck is slowly establishing a reputation for being a pretty capable and strong vehicle. This could be seen in videos of the Cybertruck participating in tractor pulls, also known as the “world’s heaviest motorsport.” Videos of the Cybertruck in tractor pulls have shown audience members being stunned silent as they see the all-electric pickup truck completing full pulls without any issues.
