A Tesla Cybertruck successfully protected its occupants during a serious collision with a Ford Expedition. As per the Tesla owner, all the occupants of the Cybertruck were able to escape from the crash without any critical injuries.
An account of the incident was shared at the Cybertruck Owners Club, with user johnm6875 noting that the driver of the Ford SUV crossed over a double yellow line and straight into his Cybertruck’s path. The Tesla owner tried his best to avoid the incoming Ford SUV, but with both vehicles traveling at highway speeds, a collision seemed inevitable.

The impact on the Cybertruck was notable, resulting in the all-electric pickup truck spinning out. Fortunately, the Cybertruck did not flip over. The Tesla owner noted that he and his family were taken to the emergency room to be evaluated, while the driver of the Ford Expedition was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Images of the ill-fated Cybertruck that were shared by the Tesla owner hinted at the violence of the crash. As could be seen in the photos of the vehicle, the rear driver’s side door was completely crushed by the impact. Airbags inside the Cybertruck also engaged due to the crash. Overall, the Tesla owner noted that he is thankful for Tesla’s focus on vehicle safety, and he intends get another Cybertruck.
“This truck gave its life for us. I’ll be getting another,” the Tesla owner wrote in his post.
The Tesla Cybertruck’s official safety ratings are not available yet, but based on reports from those who have been involved in collisions while driving the vehicle, the all-electric pickup truck seems to be as safe as the rest of its stablemates. True to Elon Musk’s comments, the Cybertruck is also extremely tough. Back in June, for example, a Cybertruck was involved in a sideswipe collision with a Ford Mustang. The all-electric pickup truck came out of the accident with zero scratches.
