Upgraded Tesla Model 3 estimated delivery dates updated in US

It appears that Tesla is seeing a notable number of orders for the upgraded Model 3 sedan. This was hinted at in the vehicle’s estimated delivery dates, which were reflected in the company’s official order page.

The upgraded Tesla Model 3 has been available for order in China since last year, but the vehicle was only formally launched in the United States this January. Similar to Giga Shanghai, the Fremont Factory is only currently producing two variants of the upgraded Model 3 — the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and the Long Range Dual Motor All Wheel Drive (AWD).

Despite only two variants of the new Model 3 being made available to consumers today, the reception to the upgraded all-electric sedan seems to be quite warm in the United States. This was hinted at by the estimated delivery dates of the upgraded Model 3 RWD and Model 3 Long Range AWD, both of which have been pushed back several times since they were made available for order.

And as per a recent update on Tesla’s official configurator for the new Model 3, the estimated delivery dates for both the Model 3 RWD and Model 3 Long Range AWD have been pushed back once more. Prior to the recent update, both new Model 3 variants were listed with an estimated delivery date of March 2024.

As of this writing, however, the estimated delivery date for the Model 3 RWD has been updated to March-April 2024. The Model 3 Long Range AWD’s estimated delivery date has also been updated to May-June 2024.

Tesla has not shared its reasons behind the upgraded Model 3’s updated estimated delivery dates, though it is plausible that the EV maker is seeing a lot of demand for the all-electric sedan. The new Model 3, after all, arguably offers the best bang-for-the-buck value among the company’s current offerings. The Model 3 RWD starts at $38,990 before options or incentives, and the Model 3 Long Range AWD starts at $47,740 before options or incentives.
