Fisker delays Q3 2023 earnings call to November 13

Fisker (FSR) has announced that it is adjusting the release of its Q3 2023 financial results and earnings call. Instead of the initially announced November 8, 2023, the release of the company’s third-quarter results and earnings call will now be held on November 13, 2023.

In a news release, Fisker noted that its Q3 earnings call will be held on Monday, November 13, at 5:00 p.m. ET (2:00 p.m. PT). The electric vehicle maker explained that the adjustment in the release of its Q3 results was partly due to the appointment of the company’s new chief accounting officer effective November 6, 2023, as well as the departure of its former chief accounting officer effective October 27, 2023.

Due to these changes, Fisker noted that the completion of its financial statements and related disclosures have been delayed. The company would be filing a Form 12b-25 notification, and it expects its Form 10-Q to be filed by November 14, 2023.

Fisker investors did not appear to receive the update in a positive light. On Wednesday’s pre-market, Fisker shares slid over 5% despite the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq being relatively flat. As noted by Barron’s, Fisker’s recent drops suggest that the company’s shares are down over 30% over the past month — and are now approaching a record low.

While the delay in Fisker’s Q3 results is only a few days, the idea of reporting earnings on its originally announced time is generally considered a minimum bar for a publicly traded company, especially one that competes in a competitive segment like Fisker. The fact that Fisker admitted that it would not be finishing its financial statements on time could then be considered a red flag by some investors.

Needless to say, investors and analysts would likely be paying extra close attention to every line in Fisker’s Q3 results when it gets released on November 13.
