During Tesla’s Q2 2022 earnings call today, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla is expecting to exceed the 1,000 car per week milestone in a couple of months.

“We’re expecting Giga Texas to exceed 1,000 car per week milestone in a couple of months.”

150 Cars Moved Per Day At Giga Texas–At Least

A few days ago I wrote about this topic when Joe Tegtmeyer shared that transports at Giga Texas were moving over 150 cars per day. Tegtmeyer is one of the drone operators that document the daily progress at Giga Texas.

In his update Tegtmeyer said,

“Model Y production ramping is noticeably hitting a new gear, with transports moving more than 150 cars per day now, and new cars filling right in behind them! North and west irrigation system installation beginning now as we discussed in the past few videos, so it’s great to see this work begin.”

In that update, he also said that the Model Y production was nearing 1,000 cars per week and was hopeful that Tesla would share official numbers soon.

Q2 2022 Was Unique For Tesla

The second quarter of 2022 was rather unique for Tesla given the supply chain issues but it was still a record-breaking quarter for Tesla. Despite the supply chain challenges, Tesla is still growing and Elon Musk said that Tesla is pushing to reach 50% growth this year.
