Hyundai plans to release €20K mini EV in Europe
Hyundai is working on a €20,000 ($20,487) entry-level electric vehicle for the European market.
Hyundai’s marketing chief for Europe, Andreas-Chirstoph Hofmann, shared a few details about the automaker’s €20,000 all-electric minicar at the Automotive News Europe Congress in Prague. He confirmed that Hyundai was developing a battery-powered minicar but noted that it would take some time before a production-ready version was ready.
Hofmann highlighted that Hyundai’s upcoming mini EV would be affordable. “Everybody in the industry knows the target of this kind of vehicle is 20,000 euros,” he added.
According to Automotive News, most European automakers are now developing affordable small electric cars because EU lawmakers are tightening emissions regulations and more consumers are transitioning to EVs. Last month, the EU Commission reached a new compromise with member states, maintaining its 2035 ICE ban.
Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup seems to be hitting its stride, partly thanks to the IONIQ 5. The South Korean car manufacturer recently released the IONIQ 6, which received some favorable reviews. Hofmann stated that the IONIQ 6 would land in Europe by the end of 2022. By early 2023, the new IONIQ vehicle will be sold in most EU markets.
Hyundai also released a concept design for the IONIQ 7 SUV in late 2021, featuring a cabin designed like a living room with no steering wheel. The SEVEN’s arrival to the global market might still be a long way away, but Hofmann mentioned an IONIQ 7 large SUV that would be marketed toward the U.S. market.

Elon Musk announces ‘Grokipedia’ as Wikipedia alternative from xAI
The move came after Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger raised concerns over Wikipedia’s editorial practices.

Elon Musk has stated that his artificial intelligence startup xAI is developing “Grokipedia,” a knowledge platform he noted will be a “massive improvement” over Wikipedia.
The move came after Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger raised concerns over the site’s editorial practices and the exclusion of some conservative media outlets from its list of reliable sources.
Wikipedia’s blacklist debate
Sanger, speaking on the Tucker Carlson Show, highlighted Wikipedia’s “Reliable sources/Perennial sources” page, which categorizes publications into tiers of credibility. He noted that conservative outlets such as Fox News, the Daily Caller, and the New York Post were effectively blacklisted, while more liberal outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, Mother Jones, and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation are treated as reliable.
Sanger also posted on X that 85% of Wikipedia’s most influential editorial accounts are anonymous, a group he dubbed the “Power 62.” Musk amplified this claim, writing, “Curiouser and curiouser.” He also joked that Wikipedia should be renamed “Wokipedia,” echoing complaints that the platform has leaned progressively towards the political left in recent years, as noted in a Washington Examiner report.
Musk positions Grokipedia as alternative
Responding to Sanger’s criticism, Musk stated that “Grokipedia” would serve as a step toward xAI’s broader goal of “understanding the Universe.” He suggested the new platform will provide broader sourcing and a freer exchange of information compared to Wikipedia’s current system.
The announcement is Musk’s latest foray into the information and media space. After acquiring Twitter in 2022 and rebranding it as X in 2023, Musk has repeatedly emphasized free speech and alternative narratives as central to X. Earlier this year, xAI formally acquired X in an all-stock deal, aligning his AI venture with the social media platform.

Tesla celebrates more than 50,000 vehicles sold in Turkey
The milestone reflects Tesla’s surging momentum in Turkey.

Tesla has achieved a notable milestone in Turkey, just three years after the company started vehicle deliveries in the country.
The feat was announced by the electric vehicle maker’s official account on social media platform X.
More than 50,000 Tesla owners
In a post, the official Tesla Europe and Middle East account noted that in just three years, there are now more than 50,000 owners in Turkey. Tesla posted a photo of its 50,000th vehicle delivery in its post, a black new Model Y unit.
“There are now more than 50k Tesla owners in Türkiye, less than 3 years after we delivered our first car in the country,” Tesla Europe and Middle East stated in its X post.
The milestone reflects Tesla’s surging momentum in Turkey, which was highlighted by the company’s impressive sales figures in August 2025.
Tesla Turkey’s momentum
Tesla sold 8,730 Model Y vehicles in Turkey during August, an 86% jump compared to July. That volume represented nearly half of all EVs sold in the country for the month, cementing Tesla’s leadership in the Turkish electric vehicle market.
The sales surge placed Tesla ahead of almost every competitor, with only Renault managing higher volumes. Rival BYD was the second-best-selling EV brand in Turkey during the same period, with just 1,639 units sold.
Tesla’s growth in Turkey is boosted by the country’s tax structure. Electric cars benefit from lower Special Consumption Tax rates, which range from 25% to 170% depending on power output. This is significantly less than the 70% to 220% levied on gas-powered vehicles. EV buyers also receive exemptions from the Motor Vehicle Tax for their first ten years of ownership, and credits can provide up to $30,000 in savings.

Tesla to offer financing options for new Model Y Performance buyers
The new Model Y Performance introduces a number of upgrades over its predecessor.

Tesla officially launched the refreshed Model Y Performance in the United States, offering a sharper 0–60 mph sprint of 3.3 seconds, improved range of 306 miles, and a redesigned exterior. Priced at $57,490 before options, the high-performance all-electric crossover qualifies for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit until midnight on September 30.
And as per a recent comment from a Tesla VP, customers who place an order for the vehicle before the end of Q3 could have the option to finance the car later on.
Model Y Performance financing
Raj Jegannathan, Tesla VP of IT/AI-Infra, Apps, Infosec, and Vehicle Service Operations, shared the update in a post on social media platform X. As per the Tesla executive, “customers placing an order now will be given an option to finance when it’s closer for delivery.” This provides another incentive for customers to place an order for a Model Y Performance now.
The Model Y Performance, already launched in Europe earlier this month, is expected to boost Tesla’s Q4 delivery figures. It also completes the full lineup of the revamped all-electric crossover, which, until now, has only been offered in two variants in the United States.
Model Y Performance upgrades
The new Model Y Performance introduces a number of upgrades over its predecessor. Key updates include redesigned front and rear fascias, a new carbon fiber spoiler, and 21-inch Arachnid wheels with staggered fitment to boost grip and stability. Adaptive damping suspension and new drive modes give drivers more control at higher speeds, while updated battery cells deliver greater charge capacity.
Interior refinements show a notable focus on comfort and technology, with its acoustic glass for a quieter ride, heated and ventilated front sport seats, heated rear seats with recline, and extended thigh cushions. A 16-inch high-resolution touchscreen has also been equipped in the vehicle.
