Tesla has installed V4 Superchargers at Gigafactory Berlin for the first time, marking the newest location of the updated charging piles in Europe for the electric automaker.
Tesla has been installing V4 Superchargers across Europe since the beginning of the year. They have also been making appearances in the U.S. market recently, for the first time.
As the V4 Supercharger installations continue across Europe, they now have their newest location: Gigafactory Berlin, Tesla’s production facility in Germany.

A lot of buzz has surrounded the factory over the past week due to CEO Elon Musk’s comments that revealed Tesla would build its €25,000 EV at the Giga Berlin plant, joining Gigafactory Shanghai, Gigafactory Texas, and Gigafactory Mexico, which is still in its initial construction phases, as plants that will build a car at that price point.
The introduction of the V4 Superchargers at Giga Berlin signals an aggressive expansion of the automaker’s new charging pile design, which features several additional features and improvements since the past iteration, known as V3.
The V4 Supercharger is more geared toward its ability to provide EVs made by other automakers access to charging. As EV charging ports are not located on the same part of every vehicle and vary by model, the V3 Supercharger proved to be a thorn in the side of many Tesla owners.
Owners of non-Tesla EVs sometimes had to park in orientations that took up multiple spots to get a charge, so one change Tesla made with the V4 was a longer charge cable.
Teslarati reported during the first V4 Supercharger installations in Europe that the charging cable had been extended from 6 to 6.5 feet to 9.5 to 9.8 feet, enabling easier access for those who do not own Tesla EVs but are charging at a V4 Supercharger.
