Tesla Giga Berlin has matured into a massive electric vehicle production complex whose workforce is comprised of people from numerous countries. Giga Berlin’s diversity was recently highlighted by the IHK Ostbrandenburg, one of the largest economic interest groups between Berlin and the Oder.
In a post on its official LinkedIn account, the IHK Ostbrandenburg stated that Giga Berlin has become the area’s largest training company with the most employees and the most nations. As per the economic interest group, people from 120 different nations now work at Giga Berlin. IHK Ostbrandenburg also highlighted that Giga Berlin has the lowest water consumption per vehicle produced in the industry, and it also has the most number of onsite charging stations.
“Today, members of our Regional Committee Berlin Area visited the Tesla Gigafactory Berlin. During the tour, fascination for modern production quickly set in. Sheet metal parts for the body are pressed every second. Industrial robots lift parts weighing several tons up or down one floor in order to fit them precisely into the next part. Basses of different musical styles boom at various workstations,” the IHK Ostbrandenburg wrote in its post.

In a comment to news outlet rbb24, works council chairwoman Michaela Schmitz noted that most of the employees who currently work at Giga Berlin mostly come from Germany, Turkey, Poland, Syria, and India. Employees who spoke to the publication praised Giga Berlin for its productive atmosphere, and they also highlighted the fact that communication has been great despite the language barrier.
Even the 15 deaf people who are employed at Giga Berlin have had no issues communicating. “I think it’s great, there’s nothing negative, nothing bad. Everyone is open-minded, friendly to communication. I concentrate on my work, and everyone else does too,” Tesla employee Yevhen Krasnikov, who is deaf, noted in sign language.
Works council chair Schmitz also highlighted that Giga Berlin’s employees are quite young. “We are a very young workforce. People usually know each other for two or three years and get to know each other better. That’s where friendships develop. And that is reflected in the way we work together. We help each other,” Schmitz stated.
