Perhaps the biggest concern of those who are new to EVs and the ownership experience is charging availability.
Outside of Tesla, there are truly no EV makers with a proven, dedicated, and reliable charging infrastructure, so those mulling another company’s vehicle are right to be a tad skeptical.
This point alone is a big reason why so many automakers, Ford included, have decided to adopt NACS to gain access to the Supercharger Network.
However, many forget that their vehicles can gain range and be prepared for the following day’s travel right at home.
Ford is now taking steps to eliminate potential owners’ stress about this with its new Power Promise program, and it is truly the newest commitment the company is making to enable a pleasurable EV ownership experience.
Ford announces Power Promise program for electric vehicle owners
Ford is offering two new distinct features with the Power Promise program:
- Fill Up at Home with Home Charging: For a limited time, when you purchase or lease a Ford electric vehicle, you are eligible to receive a complimentary home charger and standard installation at your home so you can start each day full and ready to go. Charging at home is as easy as plugging in your phone at night.
- Ongoing Support that Has Your Back: Ford offers 24/7 Electric Vehicle Support, so you can text or call a dedicated advisor any time you need. And now, Ford Roadside Assistance offers proactive charging support for extra piece of mind.
Set to roll out tomorrow, October 1, Ford’s new program is one that is perfect for anyone who is questioning whether EV ownership is reasonable for them.
A free at-home charger, along with installation, is a huge benefit to EV owners. At-home chargers can cost hundreds, and installation can be even more expensive.
Ford has truly stepped up its game to make EVs a bigger part of its identity and taking steps to create an easier transition from ICE to EV for first-time buyers is a big plus.
