A recent press release from Kelley Blue Book (KBB) has revealed that the Tesla Cybertruck was the United States’ best-selling vehicle priced above $100,000 in July 2024. This is extremely impressive considering the polarizing nature of the all-electric pickup truck.

KBB noted in a press release that sales of expensive, full-size pickup trucks actually pushed the US auto industry’s average transaction price (ATP) higher last month. Full-size pickup trucks proved very popular, accounting for 14% of the US’ auto sales last month. The Ford F-Series and the Chevrolet Silverado were the best-selling vehicles in the US in July 2024, with ATPs of over $67,000 for the former and over $60,000 for the latter.

Kelley Blue Book stated that two all-electric pickup trucks transacted well over $100,000 in July 2024 — the GMC Hummer EV, which had an ATP of $111,242, and the Tesla Cybertruck, which had an ATP of $111,242. And as per KBB, the Cybertruck was the “best-selling vehicle in the US priced over $100,000.”

The Cybertruck’s average transaction price in July suggests that the Cybertruck AWD and Cyberbeast are equally popular among consumers. This bodes well for the all-electric pickup truck, as it could suggest that both variants will continue to see strong sales even after the Foundation Series edition has been discontinued.

Overall, Kelley Blue Book noted that the Cybertruck’s high ATP likely pushed Tesla’s average transaction prices in July 2024 higher.

“In July, Tesla ATPs were $59,593, up 11% from one year ago and at the highest point since February 2023. Success of the popular new Cybertruck is likely pulling Tesla prices higher, although the volume products, the Model 3 and Model Y, have seen prices rise consistently through the year. In July, the ATP for the Model Y was $52,055, up 5% from January, while the Model 3 was $53,878, up a remarkable 30% from January when Model 3 ATPs were $41,531. The Model Y and the Model 3 are the top-selling EVs in the US market,” KBB wrote in its press release.
