Tesla Model Y Long Range delivery wait times in the US get a bit more manageable

Tesla Model Y Long Range reservation holders in the United States may be in for a pleasant surprise. As per recent observations from the EV community, it appears that the waiting period of the Model Y Long Range in the US has been adjusted.

A look at Tesla’s configurator for the best-selling all-electric crossover shows that Model Y Long Range orders placed today could have an estimated delivery date as early as December 2022. That is, at least, if customers order the vehicle with its optional 20″ Induction Wheels, which are a $2,000 option.

Those who wish to order the Model Y Long Range with the base 19″ Gemini Wheels would likely have to wait until March 2023 to July 2023. While this is still a long waiting period for the Model Y, the new timeframe represents an improvement as the vehicle was previously listed with an estimated delivery date of April 2023 to July 2023.

Customers who would be ordering the Model Y Long Range with the 20″ Induction Wheels should take note that the option does not only add $2,000 to the price of the crossover; it also reduces the vehicle’s range to 318 miles per charge. With the base 19″ Gemini Wheels, Tesla lists the Model Y LR’s range as 330 miles per charge.

That being said, the Model Y Long Range’s 20″ Induction Wheels are quite popular among customers, partly because of their aesthetics. The 19″ Gemini Wheels look appropriate for the vehicle, but one can tell that they are optimized for maximum range. The 20″ Induction Wheels, with their dark shade, look just a step away from the 21″ Überturbine Wheels that are exclusive to the Model Y Performance.

The adjustment of the Model Y Long Range’s estimated delivery dates in the United States bodes well for the vehicle’s ramp in both the Fremont Factory and Gigafactory Texas. With Tesla producing more of the all-electric crossover efficiently, the Model Y could take a step closer to becoming the world’s best-selling vehicle by revenue, just as CEO Elon Musk predicted.
