Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerburg fight gets potential blockbuster venue

Since billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg showed signs that they were all-in for a physical cage match, the universe appears to have shifted into one of its most entertaining timelines. Both Musk and Zuckerberg are important leaders in their respective companies, after all, but both seem pretty game about the idea of a physical match, and inside a cage at that.

The ridiculous but seemingly-becoming-more-and-more-feasible match started when Musk playfully posted on Twitter that he was up for a cage match against the Facebook and Meta owner. Zuckerberg responded to Musk’s post on his own social media platform, stating, “send me location.”

And with that, the billionaire cage match was born.

A lot of things have happened since. Artificial intelligence researcher and martial arts enthusiast Lex Fridman shared videos and photos of himself sparring with both billionaires. Fridman praised Musk for his strength, power, and skill, though he also showed clips of himself submitting to Zuckerberg during their jiu-jitsu sparring session.

In what could be the most amusing development yet to the billionaires’ potential cage match, TMZ Sports recently claimed that an official from the government of Italy had reportedly contacted the Meta owner about the idea of staging the fight in Rome’s Colosseum.

The idea is certainly novel, though the venue has not really been used to host large events in recent years. Elon Musk seems to be enjoying the progression of events, however, noting on Twitter that “some chance fight happens in Colosseum.”

While the idea of Musk and Zuckerberg facing off in a cage match in the Colosseum is definitely a fun scenario, the Italy Ministry of Culture’s Office has issued a statement noting that there has been no formal contract from the ministry nor any written document about the event yet. Thus, reports of the billionaire cage match in the Colosseum should be treated as speculation for now.

If the fight between Musk and Zuckerberg does happen, it would likely be quite entertaining. The Tesla CEO is notably larger and heavier than the Meta owner, though he is also 12 years older. Musk’s larger physical size should likely give him an advantage in the bout, but Zuckerberg is pretty skilled in martial arts, winning jiu-jitsu tournaments and reportedly completing the “Murph Challenge” workout in less than 40 minutes.
