Elon Musk met with yet another country leader this week, this time hosting El Salvador President Nayib Bukele at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Texas.
Musk and Bukele posted about the meeting on X on Friday, with the Tesla CEO saying the two discussed “the nature of reality, future of humanity and how technology like AI and robotics will affect the world.”
He also went on to call Bukele “an amazing leader,” adding that the El Salvador President gifted him coffee that had been grown at the leader’s personal ranch. In a post on Saturday, which also included a brief video teaser of the two walking through Giga Texas, Bukele said the two had spent “several hours talking,” going on to call Musk “one of the great minds of our time.”

Musk also went on to say that the two should do a livestream of their next conversation, which would more than likely be hosted on X Spaces.
We should livestream our next conversation! I think people would enjoy hearing it.

Over the last couple of years, Musk has met with a wide range of world leaders, recently including a meeting with Argentina President Javier Milei in May. He has also met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Hungary President Katalin Novák, to name just a few.
Musk often discusses themes similar to those he referenced in his conversation with Bukele, especially including AI, space travel, electric vehicles (EVs), and concerns about population collapse.
Last month, Musk also had a live-streamed discussion with U.S. Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump, after the Tesla CEO officially endorsed the former President in the 2024 election in July. Earlier this month, Trump also said that, if elected, he would hire Musk to lead a new Government Efficiency Commission, adding that the multi-company CEO has already agreed.
