The all-electric Polestar 3 SUV received positive reviews before hitting the market next year. Polestar 3 deliveries are expected to start in the summer of 2024.
According to British Carbuyer, the all-electric SUV was applauded for its steering and traction, making it reliable while driving on challenging roads. Meanwhile, TopGear states that the Polestar 3 is promising.
“We only had a brief go behind the wheel of late pre-production cars fresh from the Chengdu factory, but early signs were very promising. The brakes are progressive, though the accelerator felt overly light on the cars we tested; that could do with some more resistance. Another one of those dreaded things that can be tweaked with an over-the-air update, perhaps,” noted TopGear.
The Polestar 3 is the first electric SUV from the Swedish-Chinese brand. The all-electric SUV has experienced some challenges since its unveiling in Copenhagen last year.
The Swedish-Chinese brand committed to manufacturing the Polestar 3 in the United States in 2021. As such, the Polestar 3 should qualify for the Biden Administration’s tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act. However, Biden’s administration also seeks to decrease the cash flow going back to China, putting the Polestar 3’s production in a precarious spot.
“We will build in America for Americans,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath. “Polestar 3 is planned to be launched in 2022 as a premium electric performance SUV that will define the look of SUVs in the electric age. It will also be the first Polestar vehicle to be built in America.”
