Rivian owners and reservation holders have observed that the electric truck maker appears to have removed references to the R1T’s Gear Tunnel Shuttle and Camp Kitchen from the EV maker’s official website. The removal of the products from Rivian’s website has received polarizing reactions from members of the electric vehicle community.

The apparent removal of the R1T Gear Tunnel Shuttle and Camp Kitchen caught the attention of users in Rivian Forums, which informed Teslarati of the change. Previously, both products were reportedly listed on the company’s official website as “coming soon.” With the recent update, however, the pages for the products were simply taken down. Clicking on the products’ old links now redirects users to the Rivian Gear Shop

The Gear Tunnel Shuttle and Camp Kitchen are arguably two of the R1T’s most unique features. The Shuttle slides out of the gear tunnel and is fitted with dual 120V AC and 12V DC plugs that are protected by IP65 waterproof covers. Its support leg is also designed to support up to 200 pounds of weight. The Camp Kitchen, on the other hand, is a modular kitchen equipped with an induction cooktop, built-in sink, water storage tank, and storage drawers for cooking tools.

As could be seen in the Rivian Forums, some users noted that the removal of the products could pave the way for better solutions to be developed by the company, and third-party companies could fill in the demand for similar products for the meantime. Others noted that Rivian’s removal of the products should make the EV maker’s production simpler, which should bode well for the ramp of the R1T and the R1S. Some, however, have noted that Rivian’s removal of the Gear Tunnel Shuttle and Camp Kitchen is unfortunate as the products make the R1T into a one-of-a-kind pickup truck.

That being said, Rivian has shown signs in the past that the Gear Tunnel Shuttle and Camp Kitchen are a bit problematic. As per a message sent to customers last October, the Camp Kitchen and Gear Tunnel Shuttle are being redesigned. At the time, Rivian informed customers who opted in for the Camp Kitchen that it would remove the products from their R1T preorders to prevent extra charges to their vehicles.
