Tesla CEO Elon Musk has provided an estimated timeframe for Full Self Driving’s (FSD) release in Right Hand Drive (RHD) markets. As per Musk, Tesla is looking to roll out FSD for RHD markets in late Q1 to early Q2 2025, pending regulatory approval.

Musk posted his update as a supplement to a recent FSD release roadmap published by the Tesla AI team. As per the release roadmap, Tesla is looking to bring FSD to Europe and China in Q1 2025 pending regulatory approval. Considering Musk’s comments, it seems that FSD will be initially released for LHD markets when the advanced driver assist system arrives in Europe.

The release of FSD to RHD markets would bring the advanced driver assist system to more drivers, particularly to Tesla owners in the United Kingdom and Ireland in Europe, as well as countries like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In a way, Tesla’s FSD release to RHD markets would likely prove to be a notable step towards the advanced driver-assist system’s global release.

FSD is expected to see a number of notable improvements before its expected release in China, Europe, and RHD markets. As could be seen in the Tesla AI team’s release roadmap, the company is looking to release unified models of FSD v12.5.2 for AI3 and AI4 vehicles this month, before releasing FSD V13 on October. FSD V13 is expected to feature ~6x improved miles between necessary interventions.

FSD’s improvements are reliant on the company’s artificial intelligence efforts. Fortunately, Tesla has been investing heavily in its AI programs, as evidenced by the buildout of Cortex—a massive supercomputer cluster comprised of 100,000 Nvidia H100/H200 GPUs—at Giga Texas. Reports have also suggested that Tesla would be investing about $500 million in a Dojo supercomputer project in Buffalo, New York. Both supercomputer clusters are designed to improve and refine Tesla’s FSD and Autopilot programs.
