On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Uber will launch an AI assistant powered by OpenAI’s GPT-40. Through the collaboration, Uber aims to encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles (EVs).
During the GO-GET Zero 2024 event in London on October 8, Uber shared that its EV fleet has grown to include over 182,000.
“Uber drivers are adopting EVs five times faster than the average motorist in the US, Canada, and Europe. In London, nearly 30% of all miles driven on Uber are now electric. And with Uber Green available in 200+ cities globally, riders can now choose a hybrid or electric ride with one tap,” noted the company.
According to the ride-hailing service company, it has enough EV drivers on its platform to offer an EV-only option in 40+ cities around the globe. The price of an EV Uber is around the same as an UberX.
Drivers will have access to an AI Assistant powered by GPT-4o to answer any questions about electric vehicles. Uber also has EV mentors for drivers who need help from a real, live person.
