Tesla’s LA diner building gets steel Cybertruck-inspired siding

Tesla’s unique Supercharger, diner, and drive-in has been under construction for the last several months, and a recent update shows that the restaurant building now has a steel, seemingly-Cybertruck-inspired siding, along with other developments.

In a video shared by YouTube channel 247Tesla over the weekend, you can see that polished steel panels now line the walls of the Los Angeles Tesla diner building, giving the building a slightly different look than those in renders that have been popularized.

While it’s a little different than the white, red, and vaguely pink-looking glow in the popular graphics created by X user HowardModels, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see Tesla embracing the steel look, given the release of the stainless steel Cybertruck last year.

The video also highlights the addition of weather coating on the frame for the first movie screen, as can be seen on the north side of the lot. Railing for interior stairs has also been delivered to the site, and crews are moving lots of Earth around, as the video also points out. The site’s sidewalks and curbs have also been laid, and more progress has been made on the auxiliary lot.

Check out the full update below, as shared by 247Tesla on Sunday.

The frame for the second movie screen, located on the West side of the diner and Supercharger lot, was initially built at the end of July, after the first frame had been completed in March. During the months in-between, crews were waiting for power lines to come down that had been blocking the area before the frame could be built.

Tesla initially broke ground on the 7001 Santa Monica Blvd. location in September, after receiving a few waves of construction permit approvals throughout much of last year. With construction nearly coming up on 12 months, many are curious when Tesla plans to officially open the unique site—and whether or not there will be more built in the future.
