Ford announced today it was adding one of Tesla’s most unique entertainment features to some of its vehicles: karaoke.
Tesla launched its own version of karaoke, known as Caraoke, five years ago in late 2019.
The addition of the entertainment feature came with the massive v10 update, which included what seemed like basic features now, as Netflix and YouTube streaming through the Tesla Theater were also included.
Ford is planning to add the feature through the Stingray Karaoke App. It will first be present on the F-150 Lightning, with the Mustang Mach-E to follow:
“Owners, their friends, and their family can enjoy karaoke, courtesy of the Stingray Karaoke App, right from the in-vehicle screen while parked and on the go. It’s an awesome way to spend time with family and friends while stopped to charge! Owners and passengers can find a wide selection of songs and music styles from Rock, Country, Pop, R&B, Latin, K&J Pop and family-friendly tunes for all ages. Songs are available in 38 languages, including 10 languages in local characters such as Thai, Hebrew, Russian and Greek, plus a multilingual interface with 36 languages available.”
The addition of these silly features only makes the experience more fun. Although it may seem trivial and like a novelty feature, karaoke will be fun for friends, family, and kids to use while driving or while charging their vehicles. It is a great way to kill some time.
Ford will bring the feature to more than its EVs, as it also announced it would be available on the 2025 versions of the Ford Explorer and Lincoln’s Navigator, Aviator, and Nautilus.
