The Tesla Easter Egg train continues to roll in. Shortly after we reported Jason Hughes’s discovery of a “Mars Easter Egg”, Elon Musk revealed via Twitter that a new Tesla Easter Egg will be made available specifically to the Model X and the roll out is happening right now.
One might recall, this time last year, Tesla spread some holiday cheer through a video that showcased three Model Xs performing a light show and “dancing” using its Falcon Wing doors to the tune of Wizards in Winter.

Here’s how you activate Tesla’s most sophisticated and interactive easter egg to date. One might say that it’s an easter egg very fit for a vehicle of Model X’s caliber.
Activate Tesla’s Model X “Holiday Show” Easter Egg
- Press and hold the Tesla “T” for 5 seconds
- When the “PLEASE ENTER ACCESS CODE” prompt appears, enter the code “holiday” or “ModelXmas” and press “OK”
- A prompt will appear that reads “The show will begin after you exit the car, close all doors and press the lock button on the key. The show requires 6 feet of space above and around the vehicle.”
- Step out of the car and enjoy the show!
