Tesla has reached another global milestone in the deployment of its Powerwall home and commercial batteries, coming as the latest in the company’s continued ramp-up of its energy products.
On Tuesday, the Tesla Energy account on X announced that the company has reached 750,000 Powerwall installations worldwide, just a month after surpassing a critical production milestone. Tesla celebrated reaching 600,000 Powerwall installations globally in February, suggesting that Powerwall installations will likely surpass one million sometime next year.
Tesla Powerwall Global Installation Ramp by Year
Last month, Tesla announced that the Powerwall production team at Gigafactory Nevada produced more than 500 units in a single shift, representing a new production record. The milestones also come after Tesla launched its next-generation Powerwall 3 in multiple markets this year, though most of these installations are likely comprised of the Powerwall 2.
Tesla initially launched the Powerwall 3 in the U.S. in February, later going on to debut the next-gen product in Canada, the UK, and Germany.
In European markets alone, Tesla announced surpassing 1GWh of Powerwall installations last November, and the company has been highlighting the rapid increase in the deployment of its energy programs overall throughout the last year or so.
In recent months, Tesla has also been hard at work sharing educational advertisements on the Powerwall, especially highlighting the home and commercial battery’s potential savings on electrical when paired with solar, and featuring the unit’s weatherproof capabilities alongside keeping the lights on.
Tesla Energy reached a record of 9.4GWh total deployed across its Powerwall and grid-scale Megapack storage systems, marking 13.5GWh installed in the first half of the year. As many have pointed out, this figure nearly reached the 14.7GWh deployed across all of 2023, which Tesla likely surpassed already in Q3.
