The BYD Shark hybrid pickup truck is now available in Panama.
During the BYD Shark’s launch event in Panama, the Chinese automaker decked out the hybrid pickup truck with overloading gear, showing off the Shark’s more adventurous side.
The Chinese automaker opened two stores in Panama, where the BYD Shark pickup truck will be available. BYD sells the Tang, Yuan Plus, Seal, and Dolphin in Panama.
Earlier this month, BYD announced that its Shark hybrid pickup will be heading to Australia in October. The BYD Shark will be available ahead of its competitors from Ford and Great Wall Motor (GWM). The plug-in hybrid truck will be called the BYD Shark 6 in Australia.
Earlier this year, BYD announced plans to release the Shark hybrid in North America as well. The Chinese automaker has already inquired about Canada’s potential tariffs on Chinese vehicle imports. BYD will likely launch the Shark in Canada next.
China’s top automaker recently requested an extension for tariffs on EV imports from the Mexican government.
“The proposal to the Mexican government is to see the possibility of, through our investment in a new plant, having the conditions to extend the decree,” said BYD’s country head, Jorge Vallejo.
