Polestar 4 SUV coupés deliveries in Europe started earlier this week. On August 20, 2024, Polestar announced that its European car lineup has expanded from one to three electric vehicles (EVs) with the addition of the Polestar 4 SUV. The company also offers the Polestar 2 and the Polestar 3 in Europe.
“With Polestar 3 on the road since summer, this is the next important milestone for us in 2024 as we make our first European deliveries of Polestar 4 and give our customers even more choice. With three models, Polestar is positioning itself as the design-led premium luxury electric car brand in the global EV market,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.
The Polestar 4 is available with two powertrains. The company offers a Long Range Dual Motor variant with a 400 kW/544 hp power powertrain and a Long Range Single Motor Polestar 4 with a 200 kW/272 hp powertrain.
The Long Range Dual Motor variant has an estimated range of 590 km based on Europe’s WLTP standard. Meanwhile, the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 4 has an estimated range of 620 km based on the WLTP standard. The Polestar 4 can charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.
Polestar 4 production started in November 2023. The electric SUV was the first Polestar vehicle manufactured in Geely Holding’s Hangzhou Bay Factory in China. As Polestar aims to expand in the European market, it plans to produce cars outside China.
Next year, Polestar 4 production is expected to start in South Korea. The company has already begun producing the Polestar 3 in South Carolina in the United States.
“Manufacturing Polestar 3 in the USA is a crucial step for us. Now we offer customers in America an electric SUV that is built in America.
Exporting the South Carolina-produced Polestar 3 to Europe will strengthen our business on a broader scope. Polestar 3 has received superb reviews from global automotive media, with strong customer test drive interest,” noted Ingenlath.
