Hyundai announced the debut of an all-electric 3-row IONIQ SUV later this year. The new Hyundai IONIQ electric vehicle (EV) will likely launch in 2025.

Hyundai recently released a few changes to its 2025 Model Year lineup. At the top of the list was the South Korean automaker’s electrified 2025 3-row IONIQ SUV. Hyundai is keeping mum about the all-new model for now. It will likely release more details about the 3-row IONIQ EV during its world premiere later this year.

Besides the 3-row IONIQ EV, Hyundai included the IONIQ 5N EV in its 2025 model year lineup. The IONIQ 5N combines the IONIQ 5’s Electrified-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with N motorsport technologies. Earlier this year, the Hyundai IONIQ 5N became a finalist in the 2024 World Car Awards in the Performance Car category.

The IONIQ 5 will be the first EV the South Korean automaker produces in its Hyundai Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) factory in Bryan County, Georgia. The HMGMA plant is expected to boost Hyundai’s EV sales in the United States. The EV factory would make Hyundai EVs more affordable since they would qualify for more of the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) $7,500 tax credits.

Hyundai Motor Group has recently increased its market share in the United States, partly thanks to its EV sales. By June 20224, the South Korean automaker had narrowed the gap between itself and Tesla by 33% in the US EV market.
